Welcome to Jarrett's Website!Hello our names are Ray and JoAnna Young and we are from Baltimore, Md. This Website has been designed in memory of our son Jarrett who passed away on January 9th 2005 as a result of a brain tumor. We made a promise to Jarrett that we would not forget about him. Jarrett was born in December of 1990. Everything was pretty much the same as our older children until December 23rd 1994. He was diagnosed with ALL ( Acute Lymphocytic Leukemia. We followed a two and a half year treatment program for the leukemia that had a good track record of curing this type of leukemia. After the two and a half year program everything again started progressing very well until October of 1998. Jarrett relapsed from his ALL. In March of 1999 Jarrett was given a Bone Marrow Transplant. His older brother was his donor. He was as close to a perfect match as you could get. Everything was going well with the transplant. We were five years after the transplant and things seemed to be going well for Jarrett. In March of 2004 Jarrett started getting terrible headaches. Little did we know that this would be the beginning of a short but very long journey for Jarrett and our family. In March of 2004 Jarrett was diagnosed with a malignant brain tumor. It was a Glioblastoma Multiforme Stage IV (GBM Stage IV). After the tumor was removed we went through radiation treatments that were everyday for 33 straight days. All seemed to be going well until tumor started growing back in Sept of 2004. We knew that once the tumor started growing back that Jarrett's time would be short. We hoped that we would be able to get through the Christmas and New Years Holidays. We did. On January 9th 2005 Jarrett passed away at home. He knew that everyone whom he loved was there including his Golden Retriever Jallo. This site is just our way of Celebrating Jarrett's life and not his death.
